Our client is a successful international technology company that is active in the growth markets of safety, quality control, electronics and communications. As an expert for applied physics the company supplies components, modules, systems and services from a single source in Switzerland. We are seeking an accomplished and experienced personality as International Sales Director.

Main objectives:

This position is in charge of the attainment of the projected sales revenues, the maintenance and development of a worldwide network of distributors, account management of European direct customers as well as implementation of short and long-term plans or strategies and the strategic. Ensure timely and accurate business reporting, especially forecasts.

 

The specific areas of responsibility are:

 

  • Management of worldwide distribution and of European Direct accounts
  • Responsibility for the budgeted sales revenues and gross margins, fully accountable for agreed results 
  • Recommendations on how the sales plan and the sales strategy for the Business Unit PCV should be modified or enhanced
  • Manage the Capacitors Sales Team by conveying clear expectations for assignments, sets objectives for employees, provide honest and timely feedback to employees and address performance issues and provide assistance/support as necessary
  • Manage the network of distributors and European Direct accounts by conveying clear expectations for assignments, supporting contractual agreements and risk assessments, provide honest and timely feedback to distributors and address performance issues and provide assistance/support as necessary
  • Cooperate closely with cross-functional Management Teams worldwide 
  • Ensure timely and accurate business reporting and forecasts 
  • Track market development and trends as well as competitors activities in the respective Market segments
  • Ensure relationships to the operational management at the key customers 
  • Ensure implementation and continuous execution of agreed upon quality and customer focus goals, including measurable continuous improvement records
Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor/Master in Sales & Marketing with technical background with additional economical degree
  • Good understanding of the OEM industry 
  • Experience in Semiconductor or at least Electronic Markets Experience in working in an international company with subsidiaries abroad especially USA / China
  • Previous experience as Sales or Key Account Manager in an industrial OEM environment
  • A proven track record of successfully maintained and improved customer relationships as well as the win of new customers in a highly complex environment (technical and commercial) and a proven record of successfully working in an international matrix environment 
  • Demonstrated background managing an environment that requires a high sense of urgency, strong result orientation, budgeting experience and solid understanding of sales practices and processes 
  • Experience with Americans (USA) and American companies and Asian sales experience (knowledge of Japanese/Chinese and Korean cultures)
